The internet technology

Introduction:

The internet is a powerful world that we all live in. It has created a new culture of information that is available to everybody. It has millions of services that made life very different than how it used to be. There are many uses of the internet and this report will give more details about the history of this technology, and its effects on business and life.

Part 1:

In my view, the internet is the main reason why we are in the age of information and speed. Technologies in today’s world are highly dependent on the internet and its applications. This is not only in the communications part, but also for selling and marketing. The history of the spread of the internet is proof of its importance to everybody from all ages.

A Brief History:

The internet was invented gradually over time, but the origins started in the 1960s when the US government decided to build a computer network by cooperating with private commercial companies. Many commercial networks were built later. In the 1980s, international companies were developing network technologies, and international standards to merge multiple networks. An international network of computers and servers was commercialized in the 1990s to become the Internet that we know today.

It is amazing how fast a technology can grow, and become very essential to our lives. The popularity and limits of the internet are still very wide. Early education, business, even any other form of technology is now related to the internet. I believe the main reason is the cost effectiveness, speed and flexibility that made this technology a necessity in all aspects of life. In 2009, it was estimated that one quarter of the world population uses the services of the internet.

The services of the internet are provided by telecommunication companies, and the level of service varies from one country to another. Some countries have higher speed and some countries have cheaper prices. New packages are available that combine the internet with TV channels and free telephone service. All of these services are based on internet applications and there is a growing demand for more combined services under one package that uses the power and speed of the internet network.

The internet has made life easier, and has made the world a smaller place. It is stronger than the media in communicating and delivering ideas and messages to the world. The growth of the need for the internet is expected to continue in the future and it is very hard to imagine when the internet will be considered as an old technology because it is the most advanced invention that mankind has ever made. But it is important to remember that we said the same thing about all past inventions. So the human mind is still more powerful than all technologies because it always surprises us with more inventions that make current inventions seem old, and people easily forget about old technologies no matter how important they used to be, if something new, cheaper and faster comes. Scientific centres in the big universities are continuing to discover and invent, and that did not stop with the internet.
Part 2:
The Internet: impact on Businesses
It has been 20 years since the internet was commercialized, and global business has seen many changes since then. New types of internet based business were built, and many companies changed their old ways to internet based processes.
As mentioned, the internet has impacted businesses in every way. Mostly, it has made business easier and reaching more people around the world. It is a strong tool to have international branches for companies, and even to not have any office for online business. Online trading is dependent on the internet and a lot of money is exchanged online. This can be seen with stock markets that have made many people rich from their homes without opening offices.
Some people say that the internet can have negative effects on businesses. While some businesses become successful through this technology, other businesses are negatively affected when their information is stolen online by hackers. This has also created new sciences and businesses that protect companies from internet hacking.
With the internet, hundreds of millions of people around the world can access the same global network that is used by governments and international businesses .With this in mind, It is clear that the internet can help or fail companies around the world.
